HERE COME THE (BAREFOOT) BRIDES!

So excited to share these absolutely stunning covers and all the news about the next BAREFOOT BAY trilogy!!  Introducing the Barefoot Bay Brides…three brand new full length novels coming in digital and print formats soon!  Do you not ADORE these covers?  I do!!

BannerBarefoot in White* (book 1):  May 12, 2014 (that’s just about a month from now!!)

Barefoot in Lace (book 2):  late summer, 2014

Barefoot in Pearls (book 3): late fall, 2014

*Important note to faithful and astute readers: Barefoot in White is the first book in the trilogy.  The excerpt that appears in the back of the Barefoot Bay Billionaire novellas uses the title Barefoot in Lace.  Don’t be confused.  I changed my mind! It is a writer’s prerogative, right?  I think “white” worked with the story better, tis all.

So what’s happening in Barefoot Bay…

The resort and spa that grew out of the hurricane-ravaged Barefoot Bay is now home to the “Barefoot Brides” — a destination wedding service specializing in dreamy “I do’s” on the beach.  The company is run by three women who are gifted in the art of creating a perfect wedding day…but haven’t yet found their own happily ever after.  But you know that’s about to change, right?

We launch with Barefoot in White, released in digital and print on May 15, 2014, then Barefoot in Lace later this summer, followed by Barefoot in Pearls in the fall.  Each full-length novel stands completely on its own, but of course, the friendships and families that surround these women carry over from book to book.  I promise a new and growing cast of characters and, of course, some cameos of fan favorites from the past!

I’ve been blown away by the readers’ response to all the Barefoot Bay books — from the first quartet to this year’s “Barefoot Bay Billionaires” trilogy.  I hope the Brides give my fans exactly what they want in every story — heat, humor, and a hard won happily ever after!

Barefoot in White

Barefoot White use for uploadingDestination wedding consultant Willow Ambrose  has fought a battle with the scale for much of her life, but she has finally won the war.  By putting her past behind her and cutting off all contact with anyone who knew her before and, of course, controlling everything she can, Willow has carved out a new body and a new life.  But when she comes face to face with someone who left an indelible mark on her heart years before, all that threatens to crumble.

Navy SEAL Nick Hershey is on medical leave, doing a friend a favor as a stand in “man of honor” at a beach wedding.  He might not be that interested in the nuptials, but the wedding planner catches his eye the minute they meet.  When he realizes Willow is really a girl he knew in college — and a girl he unintentionally hurt to the core — he knows he has some making up to do.

Willow has learned how to beat every temptation…but Nick’s  sweet as candy kisses just might be the one thing she can’t resist.   But the closer they get, the more the past threatens to tear them apart.  Together they have to discover if they really can ever let go of the past long enough to grab a forever future.

Excerpt…

“Let’s go inside,” Nick murmured, sticking his key card in the villa door.

“One condition.”

He inched back, a question in his expression.  “I’m in charge of this operation.”

She laughed softly.  “I’d expect nothing less, but–”

“We’re not, you know, finishing things up tonight.”

She tamped down a curl of disappointment, even though she wasn’t surprised.  “I know, but that wasn’t my condition.”

He opened the door and guided her in.  “Name it.  And you only get one.”

“No Z-Train in the background.  I can’t…you know…with my dad’s voice screaming at me.”

Laughing, he kissed her and closed the door.  “You know?  You don’t know, that’s all I’m going to say, but I agree to your request.”

“No, I don’t know, Nick…”  She closed her eyes and leaned against the door, angling her head so he could continue his kisses on her throat.  The masculine scent mixed with the smell of salt-air clinging to him teased her, making her dizzy with need.  “But I’m willing to learn.”

“You’re doing okay for a rookie.”  He guided her across the room.  “Here, on this loungie thing.”

This “loungie thing” was a Hollywood style chaise tucked into the corner of the room.  He pulled her down so they could lie side by side.

“Kiss me more, Nick.”

He obliged with a luscious kiss that demanded she sink a little deeper into his amazing arms, ripped muscles holding her tight, his chest pressed against her.  Sparks ignited between her legs, sharp and bright and aching for pressure.  Unable to resist, she pressed against him, sucking in a little breath at how glorious the contact felt.

Dipping his head, he sucked lightly on her throat, flicking her collarbone with swift, sweet licks.  His hand moved slowly over her V neck bodice, skimming the top of her breast, threatening to glide lower, but he didn’t.

Instead, he slid off the chaise to kneel on the floor next to her.

“Turn around,” he ordered.

She didn’t quite get it.  “What are you doing?” she asked.

“Staying focused on my target area. Turn around so your head is down here on the flat part.  On your back.”

The orders sent an unnatural thrill through her; he meant what he said when he was in charge.  Without arguing, she switched her position, laying her head on the bottom half of the chaise and folding her knees so her feet tucked under the head rest and cushions there.

“Close your eyes.”  He got right behind her, easing the crown of her head into his chest.

“This is not like any foreplay I’ve known.”

“Shhh.”  He scooped up a handful of her hair and let it fall off the end of the chaise, spilling it his lap.  “I’m not like any man you’ve ever known, either.”

Her heart folded and squeezed at the words, her only answer a sigh as he played with her hair.  Stroking it, finger combing it, lightly caressing her scalp.

“That feels good.  But I can get that at the hair salon.”

He laughed softly.  “Woman, you need to shut up and enjoy every single moment of this.”

She smiled at his upside down face.  “Sir, yes sir.”

His mouth pressed on her forehead, gently, but the warm contact surprised her.  “Listen to me, Willow Ambrosia.”  He gently rubbed her temples.  “When I am finished tonight, I will have kissed, touched, tasted, licked, sucked, and appreciated every inch of my target zone.”

“What will I do?”

“Drown in pleasure.”

“Mmm.”  She was already halfway there.

“Discover exactly what turns you on.”

Everything he did turned her on.

“And…”  He closed her eyelids with a sure hand.  “When I’m finished, you will see yourself as the beautiful, sexy, sensual, desirable, and smokin’ hot woman who slays me every time I look at her.”

Something cracked inside — some ice around her heart, maybe? Or maybe it was the wall of protection she’d erected for so long she couldn’t remember life without it.  Or perhaps it was her willpower.  She couldn’t say no to anything where Nick was concerned.

He’d moved to her ear, licking and nibbling the lob, his warm breath like a tropical breeze that tickeld the hairs on the back of her neck.

“Sweet ears,” he murmured. “Can you hear me, Willow?”

She barely nodded, capable only of digging her fingers a little deeper into the plush velvet under her.

“Listen carefully, okay?”

Another nod.

“Every single time you doubt your beauty or worth or value or sex appeal?”

She didn’t answer,  she couldn’t speak her throat was so tight.  How did he know she doubted that stuff?  How did he know she fight demons daily who told her she had none of that?  She hadn’t told him.

“You remember that just looking at your goddamned ear gives me a hard on.”

Her fingers relaxed a little, aching to dig into something other than a chaise.  She managed to swallow.

“Okay,” she said.  “Now where are you going?”

“Your throat.”

Oh.  Could she take that?  She angled her head to offer him access, and he took it by planting his kiss right on her pounding pulse.  “Someone’s fired up,” he teased.

“You should feel my heart.”  In fact, please do. Now.

Barefoot Beauty Tricks and Giveaway!

feet at beachNo, this is not a promotional post about Barefoot Bay books! This is REALLY about beautiful bare feet.  Since I write so much about characters being barefoot combined with the fact that the calendar tells us it’s nearly sandal season, I thought it was only fair to devote a blog to the beauty of bare feet.  Or, more precisely, HOW to get and keep beautiful bare feet.

I am barefoot about 98% of my life.  I put shoes on for one reason only: to go outside.  Sometimes. And they’re usually flip flops. Inside, I’m a barefoot babe all day and night. However, the hard wood floors and cold tiles do a number on my heels that even regular pedicures can’t cure.  So I did a little research and discovered the freakiest foot fix…and it works!

Listerine and vinegar.  I am not kidding.  My daughter actually brought this to my attention after she saw it on Pinterest.  And, full disclosure, I tried it first on my husband who has very dry feet and cracked heels.  (I’m being kind; I’m certain there were T-Rex’s walking the earth with softer feet than his.)  I soaked his feet for 15 minutes in a solution of Listerine and vinegar (mixed with water), then lightly used a foot file and WOW! The dry, dead skin just melted away! His feet were so smooth, we might have played a little footsie that night!  Of course I tried it on my own and had even better results and the silky smoothness has lasted for days.  So I had to share with you guys!

Just mix a cup of Listerine, a cup of white vinegar, and two cups of water.  (I doubled that whole thing for a comfy soak.) foot soakSit your feet in there for fifteen minutes (flower petals optional) and then do a light pumice or file (I like the PedEgg, personally).  Follow with a quick sugar scrub and lotion and voila!  Try it and you’ll be ready to go Barefoot in the Sand or Barefoot in the Rain or Barefoot in the Sun or Barefoot by the Sea.  Perhaps you’d rather enjoy some Secrets on the Sand or a little Seduction on the Sand followed by a Scandal on the Sand??? (Hey, you KNEW I’d get them all in, right?)

photo (21)So, let’s make this fun.  Leave a comment and let us know if you are a Barefoot Babe or a Shoe Lover (or any foot beauty treatments you love)…and one commenter will win an autographed copy of the Barefoot Bay book of her choice, an adorable bar of “Barefoot Bay” soap PLUS a specially made Barefoot Bay Sugar Scrub and Foot Lotion created by one of my dear friends with a fragrance we call “Mimosa Mornings.”  (You’ll have to get your own Listerine and vinegar — but do because it really works!)

PS.  And yes, there is a Barefoot Bay, although it’s not on the Gulf Coast and there are no billionaires on the sand.  However…look a those pretty feet!rock at Barefoot Bay
