Roxanne gets a few questions almost every day from readers of the Bullet Catchers series. Here are answers to the most commonly asked. Is there something you want to know? Something you’d like to see added here? Email Roxanne She will answer right away!

How many Bullet Catchers are there?
A lot. And one is hotter than the next! Truthfully, I don’t know, but the cadre of fearless security experts is always growing. If you are asking how many Bullet Catcher books will there be in total, I don’t know that, either. The more readers buy them, the more inclined my publisher is to contract for additional stories! (hint, hint!!)

How many Bullet Catcher books have been published so far?

Kill Me Twice – 2005 (Alex Romero)

Thrill Me To Death – 2006 (Max Roper)

Take Me Tonight – 2007 (Johnny Christiano)

“You Can Count on Me” – 2006 – a novella in the Christmas anthology called I’ll Be Home For Christmas

And in 2008, there will be four more:

“Reason To Believe” – January – a novella in the anthology called What You Can’t See

Plus the first “Bullet Catcher Trilogy” –

First You Run – April (Adrien Fletcher)

Then You Hide – July (Wade Cordell)

Now You Die – September (Lucy Sharpe)

Do the books have to be read in order?
No! Every Bullet Catcher book is a stand-alone romantic suspense, even the books in the trilogy. Of course, it is more fun to read them in order, because characters are introduced who then have their own books, and there is the occasional reference to previously published stories, romances and “Bullet Catcher” folklore. But it is very important to me as a writer that each story is a complete rollercoaster ride of romance, danger, passion, excitement and, of course, a satisfying ending.

Is Now You Die the last book in the series, since it is Lucy’s book?
I hope not!! I had not planned for Lucy Sharpe to be the heroine of the third book of the trilogy, and I did not pitch it that way to my publisher. But as I wrote the first two, the story evolved so that it couldn’t possibly be told any other way. The idea for Lucy’s book hit me hard and kept me awake many nights. I didn’t want to tell her story yet, I wasn’t sure I was able to tell her story. But Lucy is a powerful woman, controlling as hell – and I’m under her spell, too. I decided to run the idea past my agent and editor, to see if I was crazy. Uh, I guess not. They loved it and agreed Lucy should close the trilogy. But that does NOT mean the end of the series!

How did Lucy get the white streak in her hair?
Trauma can cause a shot of gray hair, even to a very young woman, and she refers to a black moment in her past in the end of Kill Me Twice. Lucy has some dark days behind her, some profound grief and some open wounds. But she is certainly the strongest female character I’ve ever attempted to write, so I’m confident she can heal those wounds…with the help of the right man.

Is Dan Gallagher going to be Lucy’s love?
I can only tell you this. Dan will have his “happily ever after.” And Lucy will have hers.

What caused the rift between Max Roper and Alex Romero?
The answer, at least as much as Lucy will reveal, is given in the epilogue of Thrill Me To Death. It was a “woman” – well, a female – and her name was Reagan.

Where is the Bullet Catcher headquarters?
Lucy runs the Bullet Catchers from a compound estate in the Hudson River Valley about an hour north of New York City. There she surrounds herself with exquisite antiques (her favorite collectables) as well as the state-of-the-art security and investigation technology. She has a full time assistant, an investigation team that works on site (run by Sage Valentine, the heroine of Take Me Tonight) and a separate 4,000 square foot house that is exclusively used as a guest house for Bullet Catchers who are visiting or getting assignments. She has a Gulfstream IV plane that is in constant use for her team, and has clients all over the world.

What’s happening in the lives of the four Bullet Catchers whose stories are told?
Alex Romero (Kill Me Twice) has married Jazz Adams and they work together as a Bullet Catcher team. Max Roper (Thrill Me To Death) runs the west coast operations of the Bullet Catchers and lives in Sonoma County with his wife, Cori Roper, and their son, Peyton. Johnny Christiano (Take Me Tonight) lives with Sage Valentine in a house not far from Lucy’s estate. He travels a lot as an active Bullet Catcher, but is anxious to start a family with Sage. Sage and Lucy are discussing child care options on site! Lucy’s former assistant, Raquel Durant, is still working as a Bullet Catcher on a full time assignment, traveling the world with Grigori Nyokovic, the Russian businessman she fell in love with while protecting his daughter in “You Can Count On Me.”

Who are some of the other Bullet Catchers who haven’t been mentioned or who will have stories?
Until I put them up on the site, I don’t like to commit to a Bullet Catcher or his backstory. I have been thinking about a man named Roman Scott, who is a former NSA cryptology specialist, a character from French Twist, FBI agent Tristan Stewart, and a young Bullet Catcher in training named Donovan Rush. When they become “real,” I promise to share!
